50 key actors in GBV were trained in the districts of Ancuabe and Namuno, within the framework of agreement 22-CO1-398 “Improving the Quality, Coverage and Resilience of the Health System in Cabo Delgado”, financed by the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AECID).
The PROMURA Association, in collaboration with medicusmundi, within the scope of agreement 22-CO1-398 “Improving the quality, coverage and resilience of the Cabo Delgado health system”, financed by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), has been providing technical assistance in the districts of Ancuabe (Metoro) and Namuno (headquarters), in the province of Cabo Delgado, for the development of specialized services for the treatment of victims of gender violence, including sexual rape.
United against the sexual exploitation and abuse of women and girls
In this sense, from April 17 to 20, PROMURA trained 50 key actors in prevention and response to GBV in these districts, including community leaders, activists, case referral mechanism technicians, midwives and influential people from community. The topics discussed were the following: GBV, Human Rights, sexual abuse and exploitation of women and correct use of reference and counter-reference guides. The provincial person responsible for GBV from the Provincial Health Directorate of Cabo Delgado, Ancha Assane Perusse, attended this training.
