"Febre do Ouro", produced by the filmmaker Raúl de la Fuente of Kanaki Films, was shot in 2017 in the mining area of Cabo Delgado in northern Mozambique, with support from AECID.

"Febre do Ouro", produced by the filmmaker Raúl de la Fuente of Kanaki Films, was shot in 2017 in the mining area of Cabo Delgado in northern Mozambique, with support from AECID.

It has been screened at numerous film festivals in Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, France, Portugal, Greece, Kosovo, Turkey, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, China, Russia, Australia, Mozambique, United States, etc. and has received several awards for the best soundtrack and best short documentary. It can now be viewed online for free.

 

 

In Cabo Delgado, Mozambique, there is an extreme contrast between the poverty of the population and wealth of the subsoil, claiming the lives of hundreds of artisanal miners. Marcelino goes underground searching for rubies in the same kind of hole his brother died in. Toni works tirelessly in a mine with little gold left in it.
