Improving the provision of quality health services to the displaced population and host communities of Ancuabe and Montepuez with a focus on particularly vulnerable groups

Improving the health status of the population displaced by the armed conflict in northern Cabo Delgado and relocated to resettlement centres (RC) and host communities in Montepuez and Ancuabe, prioritising support for particularly vulnerable groups (2024-2025)

Within this intervention, work with the displaced population is prioritized given the situation of vulnerability, and at the same time the response capacity of the health system is strengthened, generating resilience, and responding to the needs of the population in general, not only because the opposite would lead to inequalities and bad practices in the aid distribution system (many people try to “register” as displaced), but because the existing health services network, already historically weakened, must be prevented from collapsing.

For all these reasons, the aim is to improve health care for the population displaced by the armed conflict in the districts of Montepuez and Ancuabe, prioritizing the most vulnerable groups, such as women victims of gender violence and children.
