Strengthening PHC

Strengthening coordination among committee members, encourage active community participation in health initiatives, and establishing a structured weekly schedule.

On March 25 and 26, medicusmundi held technical support meetings in Montepuez to develop activity plans for the Health Committees of the resettlement centres in Momane and Campona.

This initiative is part of the organization’s strategy to strengthen the role of community agents by equipping them with the necessary skills to fulfil their responsibilities as key actors in health promotion. The meeting brought together 22 members of the Health Committees, including 12 representatives from Momane (6 women and 6 men) and 10 from Campona (5 women and 5 men).

The development of the activity plans was supported by the technical team of medicusmundi, within the framework of the humanitarian project "Improving the provision of quality health services to the displaced population and host communities of Ancuabe and Montepuez with a focus on particularly vulnerable groups", funded by the Generalitat Valenciana - Cooperació Valenciana.

Through this action, the aim is to strengthen coordination among committee members, encourage active community participation in health initiatives, and establish a structured weekly schedule for the implementation of activities.

To ensure effective planning, participants were divided into two groups, where they developed concrete proposals for the activity plan and defined the most suitable days of the week for their interventions. Throughout the process, the importance of teamwork and collaboration with the community and religious leaders was emphasized, in order to ensure a positive and lasting impact on health promotion for all.
