On the 28th and 29th of January, medicusmundi, in collaboration with the SDSMAS of Ancuabe, within the project “Improving the health status of the displaced population in Resettlement Centres and the host population in the districts of Ancuabe and Montepuez (Cabo Delgado)”, financed by Fons Mallorquí, visited the water sources of the Resettlement Centres of Nangumi and Nanona.
With the aim of assessing the quality of the water consumed in these communities, 22 water sources were visited.
medicusmundi, in collaboration with the Health, Women and Social Action Service of the District of Ancuabe (SDSMAS), within the project “Improving the health status of the displaced population in Resettlement Centres and the host population in the districts of Ancuabe and Montepuez (Cabo Delgado)”, financed by Fons Mallorquí, visited the water sources of the Nangumi and Nanona Resettlement Centres on 28th and 29th January.
With the aim of assessing the quality of the water consumed in these communities, 22 water sources were visited, of which 9 (4 in Nangumi and 5 in Nanona) are fully functional, while the remaining 13 are functioning with difficulties.
In the well-functioning sources, an assessment of the quality of the water supplied to the community was carried out, the results of which were satisfactory, according to the criteria of potability established by Ministerial Decree 180/2004 of 15th September.
This activity was attended by activists, community leaders, local water committees, the medicusmundi’s and the SDSMAS of Ancuabe’s staff.
