On April 2, 2025, medicusmundi carried out an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign at the administrative post of Mirate Sede, covering both the Mararange resettlement centre and the hosting community of the same name, in the district of Montepuez. The activity was conducted under the project "Improving the health status of the displaced population in Resettlement Centres and the host population in the districts of Ancuabe and Montepuez (Cabo Delgado)", funded by Fons Mallorquí de Solidaritat i Cooperació.

As part of the initiative, 60 informational posters were displayed, focusing on the prevention of waterborne diseases, with special emphasis on cholera. The materials cover topics such as access to safe drinking water, sanitation, hygiene, and prevention methods, and were placed in strategic, high-traffic locations: Mirate Sede Health Centre, local markets, primary schools, community centres, the community court, the community police station, public roads, and water sources.

In parallel, educational talks were held in various community spaces. At the Mirate Sede Health Centre, 137 people participated (95 women and 42 men). At the Mirate Sede Primary School, there were 58 participants (36 women and 22 men), while at the Mararange Primary School, 147 people participated, including 52 female adolescents, 47 male adolescents, 26 girls, and 22 boys. Altogether, the campaign reached 342 individuals, including adults, adolescents, and children — 209 women and 133 men.

The action involved local authorities, the Montepuez project assistant, the preventive medicine technician from the Mirate Health Centre, drivers, and representatives from the education sector, highlighting the importance of sanitation and hygiene in promoting community health.
