News Improving municipal policies for people with disabilities in Maputo

On October 29, 30 and 31, 2024, around 30 health technicians and public service managers from the Nlhamankulu Municipal District, in the city of Maputo, were trained in the use of the KoBo Toolbox, within the framework of the project “Improving Municipal Policies for People with Disabilities in Maputo”, funded by the Municipality of Barcelona.

On September 27, the first talk on justice and rights of persons with disabilities was held at the Complete Primary School “Unidade 18” in Maputo, within the framework of the project “Improving municipal policies for persons with disabilities in Maputo”, funded by the Municipality of Barcelona and implemented by medicusmundi, in collaboration with the Maputo Municipal Council and ADEMO.

medicusmundi renewed yesterday, October 3, 2024, its Memorandum of Understanding with the State Representation Service in the city of Maputo.

On September 16, 2024, material and equipment for solid waste management were delivered to the Xipamanine Health Centre, within the framework of the project “Improving municipal policies for people with disabilities in Maputo”, financed by the Municipality of Barcelona and implemented by medicusmundi, in collaboration with the Maputo Municipal Council and ADEMO.

On July 31, 2024, a new meeting was held between the members of the Municipal Commission on Social Determinants of Health, at the ADEMO facilities, in Maputo, within the framework of the implementation of the project “Improving municipal policies for people with disabilities in Maputo”, financed by the Municipality of Barcelona.

On July 1 and 2, 2024, a training on the use of the KoBo Toolbox was carried out for the 18 community activists who will work on collecting data from people with disabilities, in the municipal district of Nlhamankulo, within the framework of the project “Improving municipal policies for people with disabilities in Maputo”, financed by the Municipality of Barcelona.

From May 27 to 31, took place the first exchange of experiences planned for the project “Improving municipal policies for people with disabilities in Maputo”, financed by Barcelona City Council and implemented by medicusmundi, in collaboration with ADEMO and the Municipal Council of the City of Maputo.
