The first newsletter fromm the project “Consolidating exit routes from gender-based violence in Maputo (Mozambique)”, funded by the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation (ACCD), is now available.

On October 29, 30 and 31, 2024, around 30 health technicians and public service managers from the Nlhamankulu Municipal District, in the city of Maputo, were trained in the use of the KoBo Toolbox, within the framework of the project “Improving Municipal Policies for People with Disabilities in Maputo”, funded by the Municipality of Barcelona.

On October 17 and 18, 2024, training sessions on financial education and microentrepreneurship were held for 30 women survivors of GBV, within the framework of the project “Consolidating exit routes from gender-based violence in Maputo”, funded by the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation (ACCD).

On September 27, the first talk on justice and rights of persons with disabilities was held at the Complete Primary School “Unidade 18” in Maputo, within the framework of the project “Improving municipal policies for persons with disabilities in Maputo”, funded by the Municipality of Barcelona and implemented by medicusmundi, in collaboration with the Maputo Municipal Council and ADEMO.

medicusmundi and Hixikanwe organized a workshop on self-knowledge and empowerment for 40 women survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) on October 2 and 3 in the city of Maputo, within the framework of the project “Consolidating exit routes from gender-based violence in Maputo”, funded by the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation (ACCD).

On September 16, 2024, material and equipment for solid waste management were delivered to the Xipamanine Health Centre, within the framework of the project “Improving municipal policies for people with disabilities in Maputo”, financed by the Municipality of Barcelona and implemented by medicusmundi, in collaboration with the Maputo Municipal Council and ADEMO.

On August 7, 2024, the second feminist bonfire and dialogue round between women was held, within the scope of the project “Consolidating exit routes from gender-based violence in Maputo”, financed by the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation (ACCD).

On July 31, 2024, a new meeting was held between the members of the Municipal Commission on Social Determinants of Health, at the ADEMO facilities, in Maputo, within the framework of the implementation of the project “Improving municipal policies for people with disabilities in Maputo”, financed by the Municipality of Barcelona.

On Saturday 27th July 2024, we delivered the material and started providing recreational and psycho-emotional support for children of users of services for women victims of gender-based violence at the Hixikanwe Association in Maputo.

On July 1 and 2, 2024, a training on the use of the KoBo Toolbox was carried out for the 18 community activists who will work on collecting data from people with disabilities, in the municipal district of Nlhamankulo, within the framework of the project “Improving municipal policies for people with disabilities in Maputo”, financed by the Municipality of Barcelona.

From June 26 to 29, 2024, training took place for 70 members of community committees in the city of Maputo, on Gender Violence (GBV), within the framework of the project “Consolidating exit routes from gender-based violence in Maputo”, financed by the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation (ACCD).

On June 13, 14 and 15, 2024, a training of 20 paralegal activists on gender-based violence took place in Maputo, within the scope of the project “Consolidating exit routes from gender-based violence in Maputo”, financed by the Agency Catalan Development Cooperation (ACCD).
